The Difference Between Washed Cotton And Pure Cotton
Jun 07, 2023
Both washed cotton and cotton are made from raw material cotton plant, natural fibers, difference fall in fabric production process.
Washed cotton is ironed at high temperature, the film feeling is more prominent, so that the cotton fiber is not easy to emerge, and the tensile force is good, the washing resistance, high density, heat preservation is also good. Cotton fabrics, on the other hand, are not pre-washed.
Washed cotton is formed after a lot of special treatment, the surface tone and luster of the fabric are softer, and washed cotton has a uniform layer of plush, which is unique in style. Softer and more comfortable than pure cotton, the slight wrinkle reflects a bit of old material. Mostly washed cotton are percale weave. Pure cotton is made of warp and weft yarns through various looms, could be percale, twill and sateen weaving.
Since washed cotton is already pre-washed during fabric process, it has advantage then common cotton fabrics, not easy to deform and less shrinkage after washing. While disvantage of Washed cotton is that it'll disperse after a long time of use.
Compared with washed cotton, pure cotton fabrics are made in various weaving texture, simply made from cotton fibers, have better durability, and better characteristics of moisture absorption. And without pre-washing process, fabric surface could be easily iron to flat and show out better dyeing and printing design effect.
